Catherine Smith is a member of the Fridley/Columbia Heights Rotary Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota and served as District Governor of Rotary District 2960 (Minnesota/Wisconsin) in 2003-04. She was the Water Task Force Coordinator for Zone 27 in 2004-05 and was selected to serve as a Panel Member at the historical 2005 Rotary International Centennial Convention in Chicago. She has been actively involved in District Youth Exchange leadership and has served in Governor-Elect Training since 2005. In both 2006 and 2007 she was asked by the President-Elect of Rotary to serve as a Rotary International Training Leader in San Diego, where she received top marks for her ability as a trainer. Recently Cathy has been assisting clubs and districts across the country in developing strategic plans, which she has proven to be integral to membership growth and retention at the club level. She has been a popular speaker at other PETS.
Cathy’s Rotary Classification is Roofing Contractor. She is Administrative Vice President at Central Roofing Company/Stock Roofing Company LLC, both companies divisions of Tecta America. She is in charge of accounting, legal services and insurance. Starting with the company at 19 years of age answering telephones, she progressed through the ranks, and was promoted to Vice President in 1987. Her company is a large union commercial roofing and sheet metal contractor, as well as a residential roofing contractor, operating primarily in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Her personal interests include travel, theatre, children, reading, volunteer work and her two cats, Max and Millie.
